There are CDs or DVDs you put into your player, you look at their contents and you will be full of enthusiasm for the pictures and the music. And there are also discs you put in and your stomach will start to rumble, although you have eaten just a couple of minutes before, your mouth begins to water and you'd like to eat your television set. Dali Ubilava's DVD about Georgian Cookery has that effect.
The author Dali Ubilava, by profession film director, made a documentary on Georgia 's kitchens and restaurants. The result is a movie-cook-book that presents Georgian recipes in 11 lessons. Here you can see e.g. how to prepare Khachapuri. The advantage over a written book lies in the details, for example when you see exactly how to close a filled Khachapuri with your fingers. At the end of each recipe you will find a list of all ingredients.
But there are not only recipes. You will also find some short coverages on Georgian restaurants. They show how to serve a crunchy roast "Gotchi" on the spit. And you can also learn how to make "Tonis Puri", the fresh Georgian bread that is baked in a preheated oven deeply digged into the earth. And above all the wonderful Georgian music!
DVD is available on English and Russian languages.
